CAD Audio's 40-117 utility microphone base is designed to accept the popular 800 or 900 series Astatic mini-gooseneck microphones as well as any other miniature gooseneck microphone with a three pin professional audio connector.
The 40-117 features a specially compounded energy absorbing "shock mount" pad to decouple the base from sources of unwanted mechanical resonance, i.e. podiums, lecterns, tables, etc. This unit features a push button which can be used as a "push-to-talk" or "push-to-mute" depending on the status of the mode switch on the underside of the base. The LED illuminates when the microphone is active. The circuit contains a highly reliable switch to operate a 55dB mute which will effectively kill audio output without causing a potentially damaging phantom power "thump" when used with electret type microphones.
The 40-117 is supplied with a rugged four conductor, two shielded seven foot cable terminated with a professional 3-pin male XLR type connector for balanced audio. The base is constructed of die cast zinc with a steel base plate.

The Astatic 40-117 Portable Desk Base is designed to conveniently mount the Astatic 800 and 900 series gooseneck microphones, or any third party miniature gooseneck microphone with a standard 3-pin XLR connection. The portable design enables quick and easy setup on podiums, desk tops and more.
The top push switch features a status LED and provides Push-To-Talk and Push-To-Mute modes. A rubber shock-resistant base minimizes noise caused by shock and vibration. The 3-pin XLR female input and 7' (2.13m) XLR male output cable make installation quick and easy.
Select-able Slide Switch
The Select-able Slide Switch on the underside of this model lets you quickly and easily switch between push to talk or push to mute functions.
Balanced Audio
The rugged four conductor, two shielded seven foot cable is terminated with a professional 3-pin male XLR connector so you are sure to get balanced audio.
LED Indicator
The LED light makes your life just a little bit easier by illuminating only when the microphone is active, so even in low light situations you know when you're live.
Versatile Operation
The 40-117 Desk Mount is an ideal choice for the Astatic 800 and 900 series gooseneck mics, as well as third party microphones with 3-pin XLR type connections.
Shock Mounted
The bottom features CAD's special energy absorbing shock mount compound to reduce vibration noise. There are also two keyholes for permanent mounting.
